woList (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the website and the woList mobile Application (the “Service”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. When you interact with our Website or Apps, we collect information that, alone or in combination with other information, could be used to identify you (“Personal Data”). When you sign up for or use the Services, you voluntarily give us certain Personal Data, including your name, email address, username.
When you use the Services, you may generate usage data such as task answers, progress scores, and learning data, which we will collect and store for use in connection with the Services.
We also collect information you choose to provide to us when you complete any “free text” boxes in our forms (for example, support request or survey submission). woList includes a text-to-speech feature that reads aloud the pronunciation of dictionary words. When you tap the speaker icon next to a word, that word's text is passed to your device's built-in speech engine, which converts it to audio and plays it through your speaker. No text, audio, or usage data is transmitted to our servers or any third party as a result of using this feature.
Apple Enhanced and Premium voices (iOS)On iOS, woList can use Enhanced or Premium quality voices if you have downloaded them to your device. These voices are provided by Apple and downloaded directly from Apple's servers through iOS Settings — not through woList. Once downloaded, they reside on your device. woList does not initiate any network request to download or update these voices. Apple's handling of any data associated with that download is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Android TTS voicesOn Android, woList uses the device's default TTS engine and selects the highest-quality available voice for each language. Some higher-quality voices require a network connection; these are identified by the engine as "network" voices. If a network voice is selected, the word text is sent to that TTS engine provider's servers (such as Google's) solely to produce the audio. In that case, the relevant provider's privacy policy applies to that transmission. woList does not store or log that word text independently.
On the word detail screen, woList can display supplementary content for a dictionary word — such as related words, synonyms, and a short usage example — generated by artificial intelligence running entirely on your device.
The only input to the AI is the dictionary word you are currently viewing. Your account information, learning history, location, and any other personal data are never passed to the AI. You cannot type anything into this feature; it operates automatically based solely on the displayed word.
iOSOn Apple Intelligence–enabled devices running iOS 26 or later, this feature uses Apple's Foundation Models framework, which runs fully on-device. No data is sent to Apple's servers or any other server in connection with this feature.
AndroidOn supported devices, this feature uses Google's Gemini Nano model via the ML Kit GenAI APIs and Android's AICore system service. Per Google's documentation, AICore does not have direct internet access and does not retain input or output data after each request. No data is sent to Google's servers or any other server in connection with this feature.
AI-generated enrichments are stored in an encrypted local cache on your device, keyed to the dictionary word. This cache is never transmitted off your device, is excluded from cloud backups, and is deleted when you uninstall the app. You can clear it manually at any time in Settings.
On devices that do not support Apple Intelligence or Gemini Nano, this feature is not shown and no AI processing occurs.

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory. This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the App may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
We value your trust in providing us your personal information and are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
